Halton Region
Covering Burlington, Oakville, Milton, and Halton Hills.
The County of Brant is bordered by Region of Waterloo to the North, with the City of Hamilton to the East, Norfolk County, Haldimand County, and Six Nations of the Grand River on its southern border, and Oxford County situated to its West.
Historically, what provided the most stimulus to the economy of the County of Brant was its heavy focus on agriculture. The City of Brantford has developed as an important industrial center throughout the 20th century in Canada, becoming a railroad hub in Southern Ontario due to its existing networks along the Grand River. In 1997, the completion of the Hwy 403 section from Brantford to Ancaster stimulated incentive for new companies to locate due to easy access to Hamilton and Toronto, and being the quickest route between Detroit and Buffalo in Southern Ontario.
